Best friends makeover: Month 12
This story was originally titled "Best Friends Makeover Update" in the January 2008 issue. Subscribe to Canadian Living today and never miss an issue!
With just one month left in the Best Friends Makeover, here's a quick progress report from Tanya Leavitt and Tracy Metcalfe.
• New nutrition coach Andrea Holwegner has breathed new life into the area of healthy eating for Tanya and Tracy. The women are both following new eating plans and feeling great about their efforts to improve their diets.
• Tanya explored her beliefs about relationships. "One reason I haven't been in a relationship for a long time is that I believed being in a relationship meant you had to give up a lot," she says. "I changed that belief to, I can be in a wonderful relationship and still be my own person." This way of thinking not only helps clear the path to finding a partner, but it also applies to relationships in other areas, such as career and health.
• Tanya has done so well at saving for a vacation planned for 2009 that she used the money to pay off a credit card – knowing she has enough time to save for the vacation again.
• Results of Tanya's 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, prescribed because of consistently high levels, came back fine.
• After starting a new job, Tracy has been getting back on track with budgeting and with paying down her debt.
