Scrub sweet potatoes; cut crosswise two-thirds through into 1/4-inch (5 mm) thick slices. Place in microwaveable dish; cover and microwave at High for 8 minutes or until almost tender.
Meanwhile, whisk together olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper.
Place potatoes on grill over medium-high heat; close lid and cook, turning once, for 10 minutes or until tender. Brush with garlic mixture to serve.
