If you can't find applewood-smoked Cheddar cheese, old Cheddar is just as good. Serve with toppings to dress up the burgers.

Combine turkey, rolled oats, egg, green onions, garlic, mustard, salt and pepper; divide into 10 scant 1/4 cup portions, flattening each.Slice cheese into 10 thin 3/4-inch (2 cm) squares. Place square in centre of each burger; fold meat over to seal in cheese. Form into 2-1/2-inch (6 cm) round patties.
In large nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium heat; cook patties until digital rapid-read thermometer inserted sideways into centre reads 165ºF (74ºC), 5 minutes per side.
Meanwhile, on baking sheet, toast buns in 450ºF (230ºC) oven until golden, 3 minutes. Fill with patties.
