Method
In large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is tender and lightly browned, about 10 minutes.
Add beans, maple syrup, chili sauce, mustard, vinegar, paprika and 1/2 cup water. Season with salt and pepper; stir well. Increase heat and bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until mixture is thickened, 12 to 15 minutes.
Change it Up
MAPLE BACON BAKED BEANS: Replace olive oil with 1/4 cup diced bacon; fry onion with bacon. Replace cider vinegar with 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce.
