Ham, Pineapple & Pickled Onion Beef Burgers

Ingredients

Teriyaki Mayonnaise:
Pickled Onions:
Burgers:

Method

Teriyaki Mayonnaise In bowl, stir together garlic, ginger, honey, soy sauce and mayonnaise, and sriracha, if using; set aside.

Pickled Onions In bowl, place red onion. Pour in vinegar; set aside.

Burgers Preheat barbecue to medium heat (about 350°F); grease grill.

Divide beef into 4 portions and shape each into patty. Season with salt and pepper. Place patties on grill; cook, with lid open, turning halfway through grilling time, until beef reaches internal temperature of 150°F, about 8 minutes. (see Test Kitchen Tip). Transfer patties to plate; top each with cheese slice. Tent with foil; let stand for 3 to 5 minutes. Meanwhile, place ham and pineapple slices and buns, cut sides down, on grill. Cook, turning halfway through grilling time, about 4 minutes.

Spread bottom halves of buns with reserved Teriyaki Mayonnaise. Top with lettuce, beef patties, ham and pineapple slices and reserved Pickled Onions. Top with top halves of buns.

 

TEST KITCHEN TIP

Grill beef to 150°F internal temperature for medium doneness and 160°F for well-done meat.
