Quick and easy - and cheesy!

Whatever the occasion, season or even the time of day, incorporating cheese into your meals is an udderly delectable way to create “moo-thwatering,” (I couldn’t resist) protein-packed recipes.

Inspired by the Philadelphia cheese steak sandwich, Philly Cheese Steak Pizza (image featured above) uses store-bought pizza dough and sauce, making this an ideal weeknight family-pleasing dinner. It’s a great way to use up a few slices of leftover roast beef.

Red Cabbage Slaw with Blue Cheese and Walnuts is a wonderfully savoury change from your typical coleslaw. It would pair marvelously with roast chicken or steak, or serve with hamburgers or sausages.

You can replace sourdough bread with multi-grain, chorizo for kielbasa, and arugula for spinach in our versatile Grilled Cheese with Arugula and Chorizo, but using old or extra-old Cheddar cheese is key. If you have a panini press, this would be an excellent time to use it.

There are plenty of ways to incorporate cheese into breakfast, and Ricotta Lemon Pancakes is an elegant example. Perfect for brunch, or make a batch on the weekend and refrigerate. Then, simply reheat one or two on weekday mornings for a satisfying breakfast on-the-go.

Learn how to shop for and arrange cheeses with our Great Canadian Cheese Platter. It includes guidelines as to amounts per person, suggested cheese assortments and accompaniments to include. Preparing for a party doesn’t get any easier than this.
