Trevane ‘Tre’ Sanderson came to the competition ready to showcase his heart, flavours, and unique culinary skills to the judges. He understands that nothing is possible without hard work and perseverance.

With over 10 years of culinary experience. He has worked in some of Toronto’s hottest kitchens, including Baro and Hotel X, and is currently the Chef de Partie at Vela. Being a first-generation Canadian with Caribbean roots, Tre draws inspiration from his Jamaican heritage, but also enjoys implementing different cooking styles, cultures, and techniques into each of his dishes.

Fondest Memory From the Competition?

"The whole experience of being on Top Chef Canada has been incredible & is filled with so many great memories for me. There was however, one moment in particular that really sticks out to me - the moment when it was announced to all the Chefs that this season was going international for the very first time! That alone was so exciting since it has never been done before on the show, but the fact that it was to go to the Cayman Islands? That was it for me!"

"The opportunity to cook & complete on Island soil meant the world. Growing up I didn’t have the privilege to travel often - so it was really amazing to be able to work with the ingredients that I was raised on in their freshest & most authentic form. Being successful in bringing it home on the Cayman Islands really felt like a full circle moment, and I couldn’t have dreamed of a better way to finish off my experience on Top Chef Canada Season 10."

"Going through this competition has really inspired me to dream big! I always knew I wanted to become a Chef since a young age & now that it has come into fruition, my goals have shifted to wanting more. In the near future, I’m working on creating some pop-up events & culinary experiences around Toronto, collaborating with talented, like-minded Chefs to push the envelope & bring this to other cities! Ultimately, my dream is open a restaurant with a different perspective that the industry has never seen before & turn it into a culinary empire."

"I want to change the way that not only Caribbean cuisine is viewed, but also the modern dining experience as a whole!"
