Preheat oven to 400°F. Place large sheet of parchment paper on work surface; sprinkle with flour. Place one sheet of puff pastry on parchment paper; using spoon, spread chocolate-hazelnut spread over pastry, leaving 1/2-inch border on all sides.

Roll out remaining pastry and place over top (cut off excess, if necessary). Using ruler and pizza wheel (or paring knife), cut bottom of pastry to form shape of tree trunk. Place ruler to form straight line from the top middle to the bottom left corner, then trim and remove excess dough. Repeat on the right side to form tree shape. If desired, using small star-shaped cookie cutter, cut out star (to top tree).

On each side of pastry tree, cut horizontal strips 1 inch wide, leaving about 1 inch intact down centre of pastry. Gently twist strips to form branches of tree. Place star on top, if desired. In small bowl, whisk together egg yolk and milk; brush over pastry tree. Carefully slide tree, with parchment paper, onto large baking sheet.

Bake until pastry is golden brown, about 20 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes; dust with icing sugar. Cut into pieces using pizza wheel. Serve immediately.
