In microwaveable bowl, melt chocolate on medium power for 2 minutes; stir until smooth.
Cut each banana into 3 pieces; insert wooden stir stick into one end of each piece. Dip banana pops into melted chocolate; allow excess to drip off. Sprinkle with chopped almonds (if using). Transfer to waxed paper-lined baking sheet. Let stand at room temperature until chocolate is set.
