In microwaveable 1-cup mug, add butter, milk and vanilla. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir with spoon until butter is completely melted. Stir in flour, sugar and cocoa powder just until combined. Stir in chopped chocolate.
Microwave on high until brownie is slightly firm to the touch (do not overcook), 1 to 1 1/2 minutes. Let cool for 1 minute before serving.
TEST KITCHEN TIP
This recipe can also be made with semisweet or dark chocolate. Just increase the sugar by 1/2 to 1 tablespoon, to taste.
