Anna Olson's Food Travel Diaries
Canada’s baking sweetheart, Anna Olson, is cooking up a new YouTube series called "Anna’s Food Travel Diaries," the first episode launching on October 7th on her popular YouTube channel, Oh Yum with Anna Olson!
Anna loves travel as much as she loves spending time in the kitchen, and in her new series, she combines both loves and shares the adventure with her viewers. Each episode starts at home in her kitchen, recounting tales of a delicious adventure abroad. The viewer is visually whisked away to spice markets, eateries, bakeries and more, to experience where Anna visited. Then we return to Anna’s kitchen where Anna prepares an original recipe inspired by her delicious experiences.
First Stop:
Istanbul, Turkey.
And we had to ask:
CL: What is your fondest memory from your travels in Istanbul?
AO: I had heard that Turkish breakfast was something to experience, but I had no idea how grand it truly is. We sat outside, a stone’s throw from the Bosphorus, while over a dozen small plates were brought to the table. A Turkish breakfast is quite savoury, and includes olives, warmed cheeses, freshly baked and fried bread, tomatoes & cucumbers, and a scrambled egg dish cooked with tomatoes called Menemen. The strong Turkish tea flowed throughout the meal.
Inspired by her surroundings, Anna took home a piece of Istanbul with her take on Menemen Breakfast Pastries.
Try them for yourself and taste a little bit of Turkish delight.
