Preheat barbecue to medium-high heat (about 375°F); grease grill. Place green onions on grill; close lid and cook, flipping once, until lightly charred, about 2 minutes per side. Let cool completely before chopping.
In small bowl, stir together green onions, mayonnaise, lemon juice and pepper until combined.
