Roundup: Best beach vacation beauty aids
March break has arrived and I know many of you will be heading down to a tropical destination—jealous! I was fortunate to get a petite break from winter's chill a few weeks ago. I was on a press junket that was held in Cancun, Mexico with luxury French hair care brand
Kerastase, getting the run down on all their launches for 2014. More to come on that! [caption id="attachment_12397" align="aligncenter" width="548"]
My beauty beach bag must-haves for 2014.[/caption] Normally beauty junkets are held in New York or Paris, so this was a
very nice change of scenery (and pace), especially because it gave me a few days to soak up some much needed vitamin D. It also gave me an opportunity to test drive a bunch of the newest beauty launches for summer. My suitcase was half filled with beauty products including, sunscreens, skin care, hair care, makeup and body care. After testing most of the products out I managed to narrow my top picks down to six beach beauty aids—and here they are:
This tinted (bronzer) moisturizer also works are a gradual tanner. It’s formulated to accentuate a natural tan or a faux tan, like in my case. Before I headed to Cancun I applied the
St. Tropez body mousse, the tan booster kept my skin looks hydrated and the faux finish looking golden. This self-tanner is far less harsh than others on the market. It doesn't smell and the formula is lacking these gnarly ingredients: parbens, sulfates, phthalates and triclosan.

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Tesoro, $29, murale.ca.
St. Tropez Tanning Essenital Self Tan Tan Booster, $38, sephora.ca.
Ok, so this one isn’t exactly a new launch,
I've gushed about it before. However it’s so good that I needed to include it in the roundup. Destination makeup should be simple, the less is more approach is always recommended. Quickly give yourself a “beauty” look with a swipe bright lipstick. Usually the main drawback to a bright lippy is maintenance, but not with Stila’s liquid lipstick. Apply it once and it will last you all day and all night, without budging. I kid you not. Over the years I’ve probably tested 100 long-wear formulas and nothing compares. I’m also a fan of the colour selection (10 shades to chose from) and the matte finish.

Clinique Superprimer Face Primer in Colour Corrects Redness, $29, sephora.ca.
Got a little too much sun? Or many just came back from a beach run and your complexion has developed into a lovely shade of cooked crustacean? No problem. Apply this yellow tinted primer and your colouring will be brought back to normal in an instant. This lightweight and oil-free formula is deisgned to correct redness. Follow up with a foundation or BB cream to further cover the redness.
Ombrelle Ultra-Fluid Lotion for face SPF 30, $17, shoppersdrugmart.com.
