New York Fashion Week Spring 2014 beauty trends
New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is in full swing with designers showcasing their wares (see-through coats! colour-blocked skirts! tribal maxi dresses!) on the runways of North America's most stylish city. Though there are still a few days left for street-style stars to pose on the sidewalk and models to sashay down the catwalk, we're already starting to notice some trends for spring. Next season, try adding a few of these pretty looks into your day-to-day repertoire: [caption id="attachment_10131" align="aligncenter" width="319"]

1. Orange makeup On lips, cheeks and nails, orange is a juicy and modern way to add a pop of colour. Even try the hot hue simultaneously on lips and cheeks, as seen at DKNY.

3. Bare/neutral nails Fun hues and creative nail art are still huge for spring, but a sheer or neutral polish will elongate fingers and won't detract from a vibrant outfit. Go one shade lighter or darker than your skin tone. [caption id="attachment_10137" align="aligncenter" width="420"]

4. White eye makeup Whether in shadow or liner form, white near the eyes will brighten and draw attention to those peepers. If you're wary, add just a touch at the inner corners.

2. Grungy, wet-looking hair
The undone, sloppy look still isn't going away. Why? It adds the perfect amount of edge. Spritz roots with lift spray before blow-drying with a round brush and encourage volume by teasing. To get the wet effect, slick the sides – and top, if you're daring! – with styling cream, serum or oil. [caption id="attachment_10132" align="aligncenter" width="320"]
