Trout Rainwear teams up two contrasting concepts: fashion and function. The new(ish) niche label exclusively designs stylish 100 percent waterproof jackets. Sisters and cofounders Ashley McDonald and Jenn Lancefield decided to create a fashion line dedicated to rainwear because they saw 
a gap in the market. “There are sporty jackets out there, as well as expensive trench coats, but nothing that’s 
100 percent waterproof, stylish and fun,” says Lancefield. For their third collection, they've focused on five designs that can transition from day to evening and can be worn rain or shine. So much so that it actually has me wishing for those dark clouds to settle in overhead. The two-tone cape comes in three colours: yellow, navy and lime green and its made from a waterproof double-face cotton blend sourced from Italy, a trademark of the line. Some other notable features are the double-breasted snap front closures, hood, welt pockets and contrasting interior and seam tape—another signature of the brand.
