These traditional eyeliners are a must when applying smoky eyes, more like were a must thanks to L'Oreal Paris Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner. The mechanical eyeliner (no sharpener required) goes on smooth, is long lasting and comes with a built-in smudger—another smoky eye prerequisite. When I want to a draw a crisp cat eye that will last through tears and eye rubbing, I pick Hard Candy's waterproof felt tip. It's easy to handle and gives great clean colour without feathering. Retro flick and a peachy lip: Here I come! Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen, $12, target.ca. When I'm looking to create a jewel-toned eye or a coloured smoky eye, Pixi is my go-to. The Endless Silky Eye Pen has a creamy texture that's perfect for blending and there's a great selection of flattering hues. My faves? Sage Gold, a mossy green with gold flecks, and TrueTeal, a blue-green reminiscent of a glittering ocean. Helena Yeung, Fashion & Beauty Intern Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner, $7, rimmellondon.com. One of my favorite drugstore pick-ups, this eyeliner is smooth, pigmented, and lasts all day. A little goes a long way with the kohl, so apply with a light hand and make sure you sharpen frequently. It's perfect on your waterline for edgy and well-defined eyes, or smudged out for a slight smoky eye for a night out. Maybelline Eye Studio Master Smoky Eyeliner, $10, maybelline.ca. This product boasts a thicker, retractable pencil with a sponge tip on the other end for the perfect smoky eye. The soft pencil is versatile, and can be used simply to line your eyes. Control how much product you put on and how much of a smoky eye you’re going for with the precision sponge tip.
