Can you really go wrong when you wear a pair of skin-toned pumps? Yes, yes you can. Let me start off with a disclaimer: Those of you who know me personally probably do not believe me ( because I live in heels) but I'm NOT being height-biased in this post. I am judging these ALDO shoes based purely on style. I also want to be politically correct, for a change, and clarify that there is no one colour of nude. Not in my fashion vocabulary. When I say nude I'm referring to a whole colour palette of human skin tones – not just a soft, sandy hue with a hint of peach. Nude means everything from light champagne to rich dark chocolate. What I'm trying to get at is...find a nude shoe that's one or two shades away from your skin tone. The reason it's sticking around is because it's ridiculously flattering for all figures – and it's a versatile colour that can work with any outfit. Keep it tonal and minimal with matching shades or cool down a vibrant, colour-blocked getup by anchoring it with buff shoes. The reason they're phenomenally flattering is because they instantly make you look longer and leaner. The best part? It doesn't matter if you prefer ballerinas, platforms, wedges, heels or sandals, this colour gives you the illusion of longer legs because it doesn't break up your leg line – styling 101. WEAR THIS: Why do I have mad love for the Aldo Kochler style on the left? The main reason is the cool, graphic concave shape. It looks like it would be a really expensive shoe, but it's on sale right now for just $26.25. What a steal! I also like it because it has a modern esthetic but it's still really feminine. I realize that it's high, very high. Roughly around four inches, but at least it has a hidden platform. NOT THAT: The Stotz on the right is unimpressive. It looks dumpy and outdated, and although I just said that nude shoes are crazy flattering three paragraphs ago, I don't believe myself when I look at this shoe. I'm not loving the busy detail on the almond-shaped toe, and the chunky faux-wood kitten heel isn't making me feel the way a new pair of heels should make a women feel – sexy.
