How to sharpen a knife
Any seasoned chef will tell you a sharp knife is worth its weight in gold. And is one of the elemental keys to being a successful chef, cook or home cook. In fact, it's one of the first things you learn in culinary school.
But what if you didn't train in the culinary arts? Recently I stumbled upon a video by Master Bladesmith (for real!) Bob Kramer. In it he teaches the how and why of honing your knife (using the steel) to maintain a sharp blade. His straight-forward, no-nonsense approach to the art of blade sharpening is brilliant. And so easy to follow. Trust me, you'll learn something from this guy. I know I did. And my knives and cooking skills thank me for it! Yours will too!
