Spring cleaning season is right around the corner! It's time to ditch those store-bought products for cheaper DIY options that do just as good of a job.

Try making your own DIY cleaning products at home with these easy recipes. 


Bath

  • Recipe: 1/2 cup baking soda + 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide + 1 tsp dishwashing soap
  • How it works: The hydrogen peroxide acts as a bleaching agent and the baking soda removes traces of water and soap residue.

 
Mirror

  • Recipe: 1 1/2 cups water + 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol + 1/2 cup vinegar + 1 tbsp cornflour
  • How: In a bottle with a spray bottle.
  • How it works: The cornstarch cleans the build-up on the mirror.

 
Toilet

  • Recipe: 1/2 cup baking soda + 1/2 cup vinegar and about 10 drops of tea tree oil
  • How: In a large jar.
  • How it works: The mixture of the first two ingredients flushes all the particles from the sides of the toilet.


Dust

  • Recipe: 1 cup hot water + 1/4 cup vinegar + about 10 drops of citronella essential oil + 2 tbsp olive oil
  • How: In a bottle with a spray bottle.
  • How it works: Olive oil shines wood while also protecting it.


Floor

  • Recipe: 16 cups hot water + 1/4 cup vinegar + 1/4 cup baking soda + 1 tbsp dishwashing liquid
