The holidays are fast approaching, so I have decided to treat my Foodie-file readers to EIGHT WEEKS OF HOLIDAY GIFTS – I am reinstating the cookbook giveaway! Every week from now until New Year’s, Foodie-file subscribers will have the chance to win one out of a variety of eight, brand new 2008 cookbooks. All you have to do to get in on the fun is (more…)
I am pre-empting Foodie-finds Fridays because I just received two free tickets to the 3rd annual Whiskey Live show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It takes place next Friday Oct 24th, from 7-10 pm, and I want you all to have the opportunity to take a crack at getting these babies in your hot hands so you can enjoy some excellent imbibing.

Only one week left to win a Cookbook, (who am I kidding, there will be more free stuff soon - I’m always planning freebies for the foodie people!)
I heard from David in BC last week who informs me he is in reality growing truffles, so it is not just a rumour. Also, I had a lot of views on Myriad Moonshine - so the foodies seem to be into the hooch!
Now to the winner, this week’s winner is (more…)
Week eight and the subscription drive has been a resounding success. Thanks for all of your great comments, glad you are liking the Foodie-file content. My favourite comment is from Gloria who tells me;
“Living out of the country makes this Canadian girl very homesick. This blog is like a letter from home. Thank you!”
Happy that Gloria and anyone else feels at home, the mark of a great hostess I would say! This week’s cookbook recipient is Mary Sue Miller in Etobicoke, Ontario. Congratulations, Mary Sue!
Last week I announced it was week 7 and I had two more cookbooks to give away - that was a faux pas - I actually had three more books to give away so you still have two more chances to win! Thanks to all who subscribed this week.

Only two weeks left to get a fabulous cookbook from me here at the Foodie-file. This week’s cookbook recipient is Nicole Berry from Lake Cowichan, BC. Congratulations, Nicole!
Thanks to all who subscribed this week, and remember, I still have two more cookbooks to give way – so, keep signing up to win.

It’s week six of the Foodie-file cookbook giveaway. This week, the cookbook goes to Isabel Serruys of Simcoe, Ontario. Congratulations, Isabel! Once again, thanks to all who subscribed this week, and remember, I will be drawing again next week and each week after that for four more weeks – so, keep signing up to win.
Rat’s Reading posted a blog this week about the cookbook giveaway and thought perhaps you needed to be a Canadian resident to be eligible to win, not so! All foodies are welcome. Rat’s Reading is giving away books as well to raise money for ALS. He also has listed a number of other book contests you should check out.

We’re half way through the Foodie-file cookbook giveaway. I’ve heard back from my missing winners and have been mailing out cookbooks right and left! This week, the cookbook is being mailed to (more…)
It’s week four of my sign up drive and it’s that time of the week when I am giving away another cookbook.
Last week’s foodie-find had mixed reviews from my foodie friends down east. I have just returned from an eating extravaganza on the east coast and have lots to share. I guess I’ll have to wait and see if the locals give my east coast finds a thumbs up.
Back to the good stuff. This week, the cookbook goes to … (more…)
